Super Falcons forward Uchenna Kanu has ended her three-year spell at Racing Louisville FC as the club confirmed she will not return for the 2026 NWSL season. The 28-year-old is among six players released into free agency as Louisville restructures its squad.
Kanu joined the club in 2023 after a high-profile move from Tigres UANL and made an immediate impact, scoring in the Challenge Cup during her debut season. She enjoyed her most productive spell in 2024 with five goals in 12 matches, including a six-minute brace against Portland. However, recurring knee injuries limited her contributions in the latter stages of both the 2024 and 2025 campaigns.

A key figure for Nigeria since 2019, Kanu leaves with a global résumé spanning Spain, Sweden, Mexico and the United States, and remains one of Africa’s most admired football talents.
