The Department of Security Services (DSS) says it has filed court charges against Mr. Godwin Emefiele, the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
A Federal Capital Territory High Court had ordered the DSS to charge Mr Emefiele to court within one week or release him on bail.Â
In a statement on Thursday, Mr. Peter Afunanya, spokesperson of the DSS, said the decision to charge Mr. Emefiele was in compliance with the court order.Â

However, the secret police did not reveal the charges filed against the suspended CBN Governor.
Recall that on June 9, President Bola Tinubu suspended Mr. Emefiele from office and a day later, the DSS announced that he had been detained for investigative reasons.
