Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, says the political crisis in the state will be addressed with wisdom, patience, and faith in the democratic process. Fubara described President Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers as an unfortunate chapter in the state’s political history.
In a statement on Wednesday, the suspended governor said his actions since assuming office have been guided by his constitutional oath and a commitment to safeguarding lives and property. He noted that his administration had maintained stability, ensured salaries were paid, and continued key development projects despite political tensions.

Fubara also revealed that he promptly implemented peace terms brokered by the President, including welcoming back commissioners who had previously resigned. He added that steps were taken in good faith to restore normalcy after the Supreme Court’s ruling.
The suspended governor called on residents to remain peaceful and law-abiding, pledging to work with relevant institutions to uphold democracy and ensure Rivers State continues to progress.
