The Swiss Federation has donated €1.2 million ($1.3 million) to Borno State, Nigeria, to help those affected by the region’s devastating floods.
This contribution builds on previous aid of $700,000 in 2023, which supported the Borno Model, a program aiding the reintegration of civilians and former Boko Haram insurgents impacted by conflict.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Nicolas Lang, the Swiss Ambassador to Nigeria, confirmed the development during a visit to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, where he and a delegation from the Swiss Embassy met with state officials.
