Table Tennis Star Offiong Edem Wins Nigeria’s First Medal At African Games 2023

Table tennis star, Offiong Edem has won Nigeria’s first medal at the 13th edition of the African Games in Accra, Ghana.

She claimed a bronze medal in the women’s singles event, after losing 4-0 to Dino Meshref of Egypt in their semi-final contest.

She also won the bronze medal in the same event four years ago in Congo, Brazzaville.

While thanking the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation, NTTF, for their support, she said she is pleased that she was able to attend the last World Championships in Korea, as it really helped her game.

She added that the Egyptians are ahead of Nigerians in the sport because, according to her, they attend more competitions.
