Team Brazil have claimed victory at the E1 Lagos Grand Prix, securing their first win of the series in a thrilling finale on Sunday. Powerboat pilot Timmy Hansen and teammate Leva Millere-Hagin steered the team through the group stages, race-offs and into the final to take the top spot.
Their win earned Team Brazil 38 points, bringing their total to 89 points overall. Team Blue Rising finished in second place, while Team Drogba came third. Team Rafa and Team Brady, both regular front-runners in the championship, missed out on the podium on this occasion.
The E1 Lagos GP, an all-electric powerboat race, blends high-speed competition with cutting-edge technology and environmental sustainability. The event brought together international teams and spectators for a weekend of racing on the Lagos waterfront.
Lagos became the first African city to host the E1 Racing Championship, which took place on Saturday, 4 October, and Sunday, 5 October, around Victoria Island.
Speaking at the final, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu described the event as a landmark moment for the city, highlighting its spirit of creativity, resilience and commitment to sustainable energy.
“Hosting the E1 Grand Prix is not just about sport. It is about innovation, environmental responsibility, and putting Lagos on the global map for future-focused development,” the governor said.
