Team Justice for Mohbad has criticised efforts to exclude Joseph Aloba, father of the late singer, from the proposed DNA test involving Mohbad’s son, Liam. The group reacted to the December 2 Lagos court sitting, which set aside Aloba’s request for a dual-laboratory test to be conducted in the US and UK.
In a statement signed by Toby Bart, the group insisted that only the person contesting paternity has the right to control the DNA process, adding that the court’s suggestion to send samples to an unnamed foreign lab raises concerns.
They noted that no Lagos court has ordered a DNA test and that police investigations do not classify it as a forensic requirement, warning that state involvement may undermine public trust.

The group urged full transparency and a globally recognised chain of custody, stressing that the unresolved DNA issue remains the reason Mohbad has not been buried more than two years after his death.
