Two members of the Rivers State House of Assembly have appealed to their colleagues to halt the impeachment process against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu. The appeal was made on Monday during a press conference in Rivers State.
The minority leader of the House, Sylvanus Nwankwo, who represents Omuma State Constituency, called on lawmakers to temper justice with mercy and explore options outside impeachment. Peter Abbey, representing Degema State Constituency, said the situation required restraint and urged the governor to avoid further constitutional breaches to allow for a peaceful resolution.
