Tems Cancels Kigali Concert Amid Rwanda-DRC Conflict
Grammy-winning artist Tems, born Temilade Openiyi.

Grammy-winning artist Tems has announced the cancellation of her ‘Born in the Wild’ tour stop in Kigali, Rwanda, which was scheduled for 22 March 2025. The singer, who is also a 2025 Grammy nominee, made the decision after learning of the ongoing conflict between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

In a message on X, Tems expressed regret for promoting the show without awareness of the situation, emphasising that it was never her intention to appear insensitive.  

The Kigali concert was part of her global tour in support of her 2024 debut album, “Born in the Wild”. Over the past year, Tems has performed in multiple cities worldwide, including London, Paris, Oslo, Berlin, New York, Toronto, and Sydney, sharing her music with international fans.
