At least 10 people have been killed in coordinated attacks on Jol and Dorowa Babuje communities in the Local Government Area of Plateau State. The assaults took place between 8 pm and 9 pm on Sunday, according to local leaders.
The National President of the Berom Youth Moulders Association, Barrister Solomon Dalyop, said nine people were killed in Dorowa Babuje and one in Jol. He said the attackers in Jol arrived on motorcycles from the Manga axis despite earlier warnings to security agencies.
Dalyop said personnel of Operation Rainbow were on the ground and repelled the attackers in Jol, limiting casualties. In Dorowa Babuje, he said the assailants emerged from the Jong-Wereh area, where they were believed to have been camped, and that military intervention prevented further deaths.
