Terrorism main concern at 4th North Eastern governors’ forum meeting

In a bid to push for peace and put an end to insecurity in the north-eastern part of the country, governors of Borno, Bauchi, Adamawa and Gombe were present, while governors of Taraba and Yobe were represented by their deputies at the 4th North Eastern governors’ forum meeting in Bauchi state yesterday. They discussed among other things, using mercenaries and collaborating with neighbouring countries in the fight against terrorism, This suggestion was put forward by the chairman of the forum and Governor of Borno state, Babagana Zulum.

Also speaking at the forum was the governor of Bauchi state, Mr Bala Mohammed who threw his weight behind the creation of state police.

In recent times, the northeaster region has seen devastating attacks by terrorist groups with Borno state being the epicentre of terrorist activities.
