The organisers of The Headies have announced the nominees for the 17th edition of the awards, with the ceremony set to take place on 5 April 2025.
Founder Ayo Animashaun confirmed that this year’s event will spotlight the music of 2024, celebrating both homegrown and international talents who have left a mark on the industry over the past year.
Topping the nominations list is Tochukwu Ojogwu, better known as Odumodublvck, who leads the pack with five nods. He is closely followed by Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, widely known as Ayra Starr, and Crown Uzama, alias Shallipopi, who have each secured three nominations.

Odumodublvck is also in contention for Best Collaboration, where he faces stiff competition from Chike, Wizkid, Zlatan, Asa, and Tiwa Savage, with two of his songs making the shortlist.
In a poignant tribute, the late Ilerioluwa Aloba, fondly remembered as Mohbad, has received three posthumous nominations. The musician, whose passing on 12 September 2023 shocked the industry, continues to be honoured for his contributions to Nigerian music.
