Three Killed as Truck Crashes into Lagos Market Following Brake Failure

A tragic accident claimed three lives on Monday when a truck reportedly experienced brake failure and crashed into the Ayetoro Market in Lagos. According to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the incident occurred as the truck descended from Ita-Opo, losing control and hitting a commercial tricycle and a parked Toyota Camry before ramming into the market.

In a statement on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, LASTMA confirmed the fatalities, stating that the victims’ bodies were taken to Epe General Hospital’s morgue. The agency dispatched a tow truck to remove the affected vehicles from the scene.

LASTMA has redirected traffic in the area to ensure smooth movement and prevent further disruption.
