President Bola Tinubu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio have commended the late former President Muhammadu Buhari for his disciplined leadership and deep commitment to Nigeria.
Speaking during a special Federal Executive Council meeting held in honour of Buhari, Tinubu described his predecessor as a patriot who lived a simple life and made significant sacrifices for the country. He said Buhari left behind a legacy of integrity and national service.

Senate President Akpabio also praised Buhari’s style of leadership, noting that his strong moral compass and dedication to public service were hallmarks of his administration.
The special session was part of a series of tributes and activities honouring the late president, who died in London at the age of 82.
Buhari, who first ruled as military head of state from 1983 to 1985, returned as a civilian president in 2015 and served two terms until 2023.
