President Bola Tinubu has appointed Professor Shu’aibu Shehu Aliyu as Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund. The announcement was made on April 2 by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga.
Aliyu replaces Ahmed Galadima Aminu, who resigned to pursue the 2027 governorship election in Adamawa State. Until his appointment, Aliyu served as Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education.
The president has also renewed the appointment of Engineer Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz as Managing Director of the Transmission Company of Nigeria for a second and final term. Both appointments take immediate effect.

According to the presidency, the decisions followed an assessment of leadership performance, with Tinubu urging the appointees to serve with diligence and support national development priorities in the energy and power sectors.
