President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Owerri, the Imo State capital, on a one-day official visit. His aircraft landed at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport shortly before 1 p.m. on Tuesday.
The President is expected to inaugurate the reconstructed 60-kilometre dual carriage Owerri–Mbaise–Umuahia Federal Road and the Assumpta Flyover. Both projects were executed by Governor Hope Uzodimma’s administration.

Tinubu will also open the newly built 6,000-capacity Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre in Owerri. The facility is named after the businessman and philanthropist Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu.
As part of his itinerary, the President will attend the public presentation of Governor Uzodimma’s book titled ‘A Decade of Impactful Progressive Governance in Nigeria’, which documents Nigeria’s democratic journey under the All Progressives Congress.
