President Bola Tinubu has filed a motion to quash a subpoena filed by the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar before the Chicago Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois, in the United States of America.
Former Vice President Abubakar filed the petition through his counsel, Angela Liu, on July 11.
The petition seeks to obtain further details of President Tinubu’s academic records at the Chicago State University.

In a reply to the petition two days ago, President Tinubu’s counsel, Victor Henderson, asked the court to strike out the request as no judge of the court heard and granted the subpoena.
Mr. Henderson contends that the petition was presumptive and invalid for providing only six days for compliance, which is less than 14 days provided under Rules of the Illinois Supreme Court Rules.
