President Bola Tinubu has praised members of the All Progressives Congress following weekend by-elections in 16 constituencies across 12 states, declaring the outcome a vote of confidence in the ruling party.
According to official tallies, the APC secured 12 of the 16 contested seats. The All Progressives Grand Alliance won two, while the Peoples Democratic Party and the New Nigeria Peoples Party each claimed one.
President Tinubu congratulated APC national chairman Nentawe Yilwatda, describing the results as a strong first showing under his leadership. He also commended the electoral commission for conducting what he called largely peaceful and orderly polls.

The president urged rival parties to embrace sportsmanship and pledged that his administration’s “Renewed Hope” agenda would deliver security and prosperity.
INEC, however, declared the Kaura Namoda South constituency race in Zamfara inconclusive after irregularities in two wards.
