Speaking to State House correspondents after a series of meetings of the Special Presidential Committee on Emergency Food Intervention at the Aso Rock Villa on Thursday, the minister says the government is also looking at the possibility, if it becomes absolutely necessary as an interim measure, to also import some of these commodities immediately so that they can be made available to Nigerians immediately within the next couple of weeks.
He added that the idea, which will happen immediately, is to crash the cost of the food items. Speaking further, Minister Idris also added that the emergency situation the nation finds herself in has been faced by some nations in the past, and the government will respond adequately, and it is already responding adequately.
