President Bola Tinubu has approved a new board for the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) following Senate confirmation of its members in Abuja. The presidential spokesperson confirmed the changes in a statement.
Musiliu Oseni has been appointed as the new chairman of the commission, replacing Abdullahi Ramat, who served until August 2025.
Oseni previously served as a commissioner and vice chairman of NERC and will lead the board under the provisions of the Electricity Act, 2023.

The government said the reconstitution aligns with efforts to strengthen regulatory oversight and enhance performance in the power sector.
