Gospel singer Tope Alabi has addressed criticism over her fashion choices, asserting that her style is a personal preference rather than a matter of religious doctrine.
Speaking during a live broadcast, Alabi explained that while she has always had an appreciation for beauty and fashion, financial constraints in the past influenced her more modest appearance.

She clarified that her decision to cover her hair in church is a personal one, not a divine instruction, and that her choice of jewellery is often guided by the artistic themes of her music videos.
Reflecting on earlier years, Alabi noted that she once wore smaller earrings simply because she could not afford larger ones. She stressed that her approach to fashion remains intentional and is shaped by personal taste rather than religious obligations.
