Nollywood actress, filmmaker and producer Toyin Abraham’s film Oversabi Aunty has crossed the N1 billion mark at the Nigerian box office, according to FilmOne Entertainment. The milestone makes it the first Nollywood directorial debut to gross over N1 billion and the fourth highest grossing Nollywood film of all time, unadjusted for inflation. The achievement also marks Abraham’s first N1 billion run in the West African box office.
FilmOne Entertainment attributed the film’s commercial success to strong cinema attendance in Nigeria and Ghana, effective pre release marketing and positive early audience reception. The comedy opened with N87.8 million in its opening weekend, alongside N12.7 million from preview screenings, bringing total opening earnings to N100.5 million and ranking as Nollywood’s second biggest opening of 2025 at the time of release.

The film premiered in Lagos on November 14 and features a supporting cast including Mike Ezuruonye, Efe Irele, Queen Nwokoye, Jemima Osunde, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Tana Adelana and Toyin Afolayan. Distributed by FilmOne Entertainment, Oversabi Aunty centres on Toun, played by Toyin Abraham, a church usher whose over involvement in others’ lives fuels the story’s humour and conflict.
