Troops Arrest Suspected Boko Haram Collaborators, Seizes Drones in Adamawa, Borno Operations

Troops of the Joint Task Force North-East, Operation Hadin Kai, have arrested suspected Boko Haram collaborators and recovered drones and ammunition during operations in Adamawa and Borno states.

In a statement issued in Maiduguri on Thursday, the Media Information Officer of the Theatre Command, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, said troops of Sector 4 under the 28 Task Force Brigade arrested a 28-year-old suspect, Ismail Muhammed, in the Visik General area of Hong Local Government Area, Adamawa State. Items recovered included an AK-47 magazine, 7.62 millimetre ammunition, military accoutrements and food supplies.

In a separate operation in Madagali Local Government Area, troops ambushed the Visik River line and killed a suspected terrorist commander identified as Abdullahi Mafa, recovering an AK-47 rifle and a loaded magazine. Troops also arrested a 64-year-old suspect, Dauda Gubula, at Madagali Motor Park, recovering two aerial drones, accessories and 20 solar power banks. The military said the drones were intended for weaponisation and operational use by insurgents.

Meanwhile, in Ngamdu, Borno State, troops in collaboration with local vigilantes and the Civilian Joint Task Force repelled insurgent activity and killed a suspected informant attempting to breach defensive positions.
