Troops of the Joint Task Force North East, Operation Hadin Kai, say they have killed 25 ISWAP fighters and repelled coordinated attacks in Limankara and Kukawa in Borno State. The operations took place in the early hours of 21 and 22 February 2026, according to a statement issued on Sunday by the Media Information Officer of the Theatre Command, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba.
The military said 15 fighters were killed during a precision operation around Lamusheri Village in Gujba Local Government Area, identified as a launch pad and logistics hub. Defensive structures were destroyed, while five tricycles and two vehicles used for attacks were set ablaze.
In a separate assault on the Forward Operating Base in Limankara and another attack in Kukawa launched from the Alagarno and Jemmu axes, troops, supported by the Nigerian Air Force, overpowered the attackers.
