Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have killed eight Islamic State West Africa Province fighters in Borno state. The encounter happened early Monday near Garin Giwa along the Baga–Cross Kauwa Main Supply Route.
A military source said the terrorists attempted to disrupt operations but were repelled. Among those killed were two Munzirs, including Modu Dogo of Dogon Chukun, and one Qaid identified as Abu Aisha of Tumbun Mota.

The source added that several fighters fled with gunshot wounds while troops recovered 14 motorcycles abandoned at the scene.
Last month, the army reported that more than 35 ISWAP fighters were killed in a coordinated operation around Kumshe, a border community in Borno.
