Troops of the Joint Task Force, Northwest Operation Hadarin Daji, rescued 15 kidnapped victims in Zamfara State in the early hours of Monday.
The troops acted on an intelligence report about the abduction of an unspecified number of persons from Kayan Boggo village in Bukkuyum Local Government Area.

Channels Television, quoting a top military source, says a gun duel ensued forcing some of the bandits to flee while neutralising an unspecified number.
The freed abductees were handed over to the district head of Gwashi to reunite them with their families.
