Troops rescue more abductees of FGC, Kebbi

Nigerian troops operating under the aegis of ‘Operation Hadarin Daji’ supported by the Nigerian Air Force component have rescued more abductees of the FGC Birnin Yauri.

One teacher and three students were rescued at Makuku, in the ongoing search and rescue operations.

According to the army spokesman, Brig. Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, the troops also killed one bandit and recovered nine motorcycles and four handsets from the fleeing bandits.

Two teachers and five students were on Friday, June 18th, rescued by troops in a coordinated firefight with the kidnappers.

The troops also recovered 800 cattle rustled by the bandits.

One of the students had died during the exchange as a result of exhaustion. The rescued teachers and students were handed over to the Kebbi State government.
