The Chief of Army State, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, says troops of the Nigerian Army deserve some commendation in the fight against insecurity despite the challenges they have faced.
Speaking on Channels Television in a programme monitored by Radio Now’s Newsdesk, the Chief of Army Staff also denied the allegation that the Nigerian military is guilty of colluding in the fight against insecurity.

The military has been accused of siding with aggressors in communities where they have been deployed to fight insurgents and restore peace and order, an accusation the army chief denies.
General Lagbaja rated the military’s performance in tackling insecurity in the North-East, North-West and South-East high, saying the relative peace has returned to the North-East which used to be a hotbed of terrorism.
