Troops under Operation Hadin Kai have intensified counter-insurgency efforts in Borno State following a recent spike in terrorist activity.
At Forward Operating Bases in Tungushe, which is in Konduga Local Government Area, and Molai, in Jere Local Government Area, soldiers have increased surveillance, patrols, and ambushes to prevent Boko Haram attacks and safeguard farming communities.
Speaking during a media visit, the Commanding Officer of 212 Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Christian Okupe, said morale among troops remains high, with a clear focus on protecting civilians and enabling safe farming.

Captain Kabiru Musa, also commanding one of the bases, said troops now escort farmers to their fields to ensure their safety.
The military commended local residents for sharing intelligence, but urged the public to avoid demoralising commentary on social media.
A community leader, Mallam Baba Adamu, welcomed the army’s efforts but appealed for better access to clean water and stronger measures against disruptive herdsmen.
