Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have uncovered an illegal arms manufacturing factory in Heipang District of Barkin Ladi, Plateau State. The raid was carried out by personnel of the 3 Division in a joint operation with security agencies.
A spokesperson for the operation, Major Samson Zhakom, said one weapon fabricator was arrested while others fled the scene before the troops arrived. He confirmed the raid took place on September 17 following intelligence reports.

Recovered items include 12 fabricated weapons, a pistol, assorted ammunition, a smoke grenade, radios and protective jackets. Troops also seized medicines and other materials suspected to aid the operation of the factory.
Major Zhakom said the arrested suspect and the recovered items are in custody while efforts continue to track other members of the syndicate. He called on the public to provide timely intelligence to support efforts to curb illicit arms in the region.
