President Trump Renews Call to Annex Greenland Over Security Concerns

United States President Donald Trump has warned that his country could destroy Iran’s electric plants and oil wells if a deal to end the conflict is not reached and the Strait of Hormuz remains closed. Iran called the U.S. plan unrealistic and denied agreeing to most American demands.

Oil prices surged following Trump’s statement, with Brent crude passing $116 a barrel. The average U.S. gas price is now $3.99, the highest since 2022.

Violence continues in the region. Two people were killed in a U.S.-Israeli strike on an Iranian orphanage. In southern Lebanon, three UN peacekeepers have died, and three others were injured amid Israeli attacks. An oil refinery in Israel was also damaged by debris from an intercepted strike.
