Trump to present plan on ending Gaza war to Arab, Muslim leaders

Trump Imposes 25% Tariff on Car Imports

US President Donald Trump is set to present a plan on ending Israel’s war in Gaza to Arab and Muslim leaders at the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The meeting will involve leaders from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Jordan, Turkiye, Indonesia and Pakistan.

According to the White House, the talks will focus on Israel’s possible withdrawal from Gaza, regional troops being deployed to maintain order, and how a transition and rebuilding process can begin. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has already signalled his country’s readiness to provide peacekeeping forces.

Reports suggest the plan was not drafted by Israel but shared with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and it may include some role for the Palestinian Authority. Both the US and Israel insist Hamas will have no place in the post-war arrangement.

The development comes as nearly two years of war have left more than 65,000 Palestinians dead, mostly civilians, according to Gaza’s Ministry of Health. Heavy Israeli air and ground assaults continue in Gaza City while ceasefire efforts remain stalled.
