President Donald Trump has announced a White House-backed ceasefire proposal aimed at ending the war in Gaza, saying Israel has agreed to the plan but that its success depends on Hamas.
He outlined a 20-point framework that includes the release of Israeli hostages within 72 hours, the freeing of over 2,000 Palestinian prisoners, and a staged Israeli withdrawal once conditions are met.

Standing alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, both leaders presented the deal as a critical step towards peace in the Middle East. However, Hamas has yet to formally respond, with mediators reportedly still briefing the group.
The plan also promises amnesty for Hamas members willing to disarm and coexist peacefully, with safe passage for those wishing to leave Gaza. Trump warned that if Hamas rejects the terms, Israel would have full American backing to resume military operations.
