Two people have been killed and three others critically injured in a road accident at the Iyana Meiran area of Lagos State. The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday.
LASTMA said the crash involved a Sino truck, a commercial minibus, and tricycles operating in the area. The Authority said preliminary findings showed that a Dangote silo mixer truck, travelling at high speed, suffered brake failure and lost control.
According to LASTMA, the truck rammed into a minibus, popularly known as a Korope, and four tricycles, trapping several commuters. Emergency responders, with the help of bystanders, rescued three injured victims who were taken to the nearest hospital for treatment.
