Two police officers have been killed in an attack by Boko Haram insurgents on a police station in Gajiram, Nganzai Local Government Area of Borno State. The assault, which occurred in the early hours of Thursday at approximately 12:10am, also left one officer critically injured.
The terrorists engaged in a fierce gun battle with police personnel stationed at the facility. Their efforts were thwarted with the support of members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, CJTF, who were deployed nearby. The attackers were ultimately overpowered and repelled.

In a statement, the Public Relations Officer of the Borno State Police Command, ASP Kenneth Daso, confirmed the incident. He said that explosives, including grenades, were recovered during an assessment visit to the scene by the state’s Commissioner of Police, Yusufu Lawal.
