Two members of the Zamfara State House of Assembly have resigned from the All Progressives Congress, blaming deepening internal divisions and alleged unfair leadership practices. Minority Whip Nura Dahiru Sabon Birnin Dan Ali said his decision followed consultations with constituents who felt the party no longer represented their interests.
Dan Ali accused the breakaway Jajiya faction of persistent interference, saying instability and lack of justice had made it difficult to remain in the APC. He said he would seek a political platform more aligned with the aspirations of his people.
Also leaving the party is Hon. Shamsudeen Hassan Basko, who represents Talata Mafara North. He said repeated crises and alleged sidelining at the ward and state levels forced him to step aside.

The APC’s publicity secretary, Yusuf Idris, said the party had not officially received their resignation letters, while another lawmaker described the defections as motivated by personal interests.
