South Africa’s U17 women’s team, Bantwana, arrived in Lagos on Wednesday evening ahead of their decisive World Cup qualifier against Nigeria. The second-leg encounter, scheduled for Saturday at the Remo Stars Stadium, will determine which side progresses in the race for a place at the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.
Nigeria holds a 3-1 advantage from the first leg in Pretoria, with Harmony Chidi netting twice and Shakirat Moshood adding another. Bantwana captain Katleho Malebana, who scored South Africa’s only goal, has vowed her side will fight to overturn the deficit.

Kick-off is set for 16:00, with Senegalese referee Aida Sy leading the officiating team. The aggregate winner will advance to the final qualifying round. Morocco, as hosts, are guaranteed a spot in the expanded 24-team tournament, with four other African nations set to join them when the competition begins in October.
