The United Nations has demanded justice after five journalists were killed in an Israeli strike on Nasser Hospital in Gaza. The UN human rights office said the deaths should jolt the world into action, insisting that both hospitals and journalists must never be targets.
Former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn accused the UK government of complicity, describing what he called Israel’s “double-tap” strike, which also killed 21 Palestinians. Writing on X, he condemned London’s continued support for Israel, despite reports it has authorised surveillance flights over Gaza while simultaneously pledging recognition of a Palestinian state.

Philippe Lazzarini, head of UNRWA, voiced outrage at what he described as attempts to silence the last witnesses to Gaza’s suffering. He called for urgent protection for journalists, medics and aid workers, and urged political leaders to lift restrictions on humanitarian access.
The UN says accountability cannot be delayed.
