The United Nations, the United States and Türkiye have condemned deadly attacks on communities in Kwara State, where gunmen killed at least 75 people. The attacks occurred on Tuesday in Woro and neighbouring Nuku communities in Kaiama Local Government Area.

The United States Mission in Nigeria also condemned what it described as a horrific attack, noting that the death toll was still being clarified, with many people unaccounted for.
Türkiye’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it was deeply saddened by the incident and pledged continued support for Nigeria in its fight against terrorism. The assailants reportedly burnt shops and the residence of a traditional ruler, forcing residents to flee their homes.
