UN Warns Of Chaos In Gaza Without ‘Massive’ Aid Injection

The United Nation, UN, says hunger and chaos will rapidly break out among the desperate and terrified population in Gaza if a huge amount of aid is not quickly delivered to the besieged people.

This warning was delivered by Stephane Dujarric, the spokesman for the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, OCHA, in a briefing of the press.

He drew special attention to the closure of the Rafah crossing and limited functionality of the Karem Abu Salem (Kerem Shalom) crossing in southern Gaza saying both actions have, in his own words, choked off the flow of life-saving supplies.

He also said the World Food Programme has already announced that it cannot distribute food in southern Gaza anymore.

According to him, Gaza’s hospitals lack fuel and medicine because of the continued closure of the Rafah crossing, which has been closed since Israeli forces seized the Palestinian side of the crucial transportation route on May 6.
