The head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, Philippe Lazzarini, has urged Arab states to move beyond statements and take concrete steps to address the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza. He spoke during an address to the Arab League in Cairo.
Mr. Lazzarini warned that Palestinians are trapped between starvation and the risk of death while seeking food, with forced displacement continuing and fears of a full military occupation looming. He said global inaction was undermining regional stability.

He called on Arab nations to deploy political, economic and diplomatic pressure to secure a ceasefire and prevent famine in Gaza.
