US authorities are investigating a deadly explosion outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas, where a Tesla Cybertruck detonated, killing the driver and injuring seven others. The incident occurred just hours after a car-ramming attack in New Orleans, which left 15 people dead and 35 injured. President Joe Biden has confirmed that investigators are exploring potential links between the two events.
The Cybertruck, which was rented in Colorado, was found to be carrying fuel canisters and firework mortars. Law enforcement sources have identified the renter as Matthew Alan Livelsberger, an active-duty US Army service member. The FBI is investigating whether the explosion could be an act of terrorism, though there has been no evidence connecting the incident to the Islamic State group.
