US Government Urges Israel to Ramp Up Humanitarian Aid to Gaza Amid Rising Civilian Toll

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has called on Israeli leaders to significantly increase the flow of humanitarian aid to civilians in northern Gaza, where supplies have been severely restricted.

In meetings on Tuesday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, and senior military officials in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, Blinken stressed the urgent need to address the humanitarian crisis in the region.

Secretary Blinken’s appeal comes amid growing international criticism that the U.S. has not done enough to prevent civilian casualties in Gaza. Critics argue Washington’s failure to use its military aid to Israel as leverage has contributed to the escalating toll. However, the U.S. has repeatedly dismissed these claims.

The Secretary of State’s warning on aid followed a letter he co-signed last week with U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, giving Israel a 30-day deadline to step up humanitarian assistance to northern Gaza or face potential cuts to military support.
