Several United States lawmakers have called on Israel to conduct a full investigation into a 2023 strike on journalists in Lebanon that injured reporters and killed at least one media worker. The appeal was made on Thursday.
Senator Peter Welch and others urged both the Israeli government and the U.S. administration to demand accountability for the attack, which involved members of the press covering the border conflict.
The lawmakers criticised what they described as inadequate investigation efforts by Israeli authorities and said transparent findings are essential to protect journalists in war zones and uphold international humanitarian standards.

The call for a probe comes amid ongoing debate in Washington over support for Israel and concerns about attacks on civilians and non-combatants in conflict settings.
