Social media personality Martins Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, has issued a public apology after an on-board altercation with comedian Freedom Atsepoyi, popularly called Mr Jollof, caused delays on a United Nigeria Airlines flight from Asaba to Lagos. Passengers filmed both men in a physical scuffle as crew and travellers attempted to separate them.
After a video posted on Tuesday, VeryDarkMan accepted full responsibility, describing the clash as unnecessary and regrettable. He acknowledged that the disruption may have affected passengers with urgent medical, personal or business commitments.

He added that, on reflection, he was unhappy with his conduct and rejected attempts online to treat the incident as entertainment. He assured the public that such behaviour would not be repeated in any public space.
