VP Shettima Arrives Davos for World Economic Forum

Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Davos, Switzerland, to lead Nigeria’s delegation to the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum, scheduled to hold from January 19 to 23, 2026. He arrived from Conakry, Guinea, where he represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the inauguration of President Mamadi Doumbouya.

The Vice President was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, the Minister of Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole, and officials of the Nigerian mission in Switzerland. He is expected to present Nigeria’s 2026 economic outlook and engage global political and business leaders on economic reforms, investment opportunities, and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and biotechnology.

The meeting also marks the debut of Nigeria House Davos, a sovereign pavilion established through a Public-Private Partnership, which will serve as a hub for ministerial engagements and investment discussions. Vice President Shettima is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with heads of state, multinational executives, and development finance leaders in line with the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
