The West African Examinations Council has released the results of the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination for school candidates. In a statement on Monday, WAEC said the results are now accessible online through the Council’s official portal.
Candidates have been advised to check their results via www.waecdirect.org using their exam details and result checker pins. Over 1.97 million students from more than 23,000 approved secondary schools took part in this year’s exam.

Speaking in Lagos, the Head of WAEC’s Nigeria Office, Amos Dangut, revealed that the 2025 WASSCE recorded a 33.8 percent decline in overall performance compared to last year. He said only 72.12 percent of candidates obtained credits in five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
The announcement comes after weeks of anticipation from students, parents, and schools across the country.
