Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, Hope Uzodimma, on Wednesday, said the government is not in support of the planned nationwide protests in August, saying it is coming at the wrong time.
While appealing to Nigerians to shelve plans of the nationwide protest, the Federal Government said actionable steps are being put in place to alleviate the economic situation in the country.
Briefing State House correspondents on Wednesday after meeting with President Bola Tinubu, Governor Uzodimma urged Nigerians to protect the nation’s stability and avoid actions that could worsen economic hardships.

Citing the EndSARS movement of 2020, he emphasised the fragile political environment and warned about the potential for hijacking by criminals.
