‘We Support Removal Of Subsidy’ – NANS To Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu, yesterday, said his administration will commit more resources to the education sector to ensure that every Nigerian child, regardless of their background, has access to quality education.

According to a statement by the Director of Information at the State House, Mr. Abiodun Oladunjoye, President Tinubu spoke in his office during a visit by the leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS). 

The NANS leaders had gone to thank the President over the signing into law of the Student Loan Bill, which will provide loans to indigent students in tertiary institutions.

The President said poverty should not be a barrier to education, emphasising the transformative power of education in combating poverty.

The NANS President declared the students’ support on the removal of fuel subsidy saying it takes a great person to take that bold step of removing the subsidy on petrol.  He also said the association was urged to protest on the matter, but they rejected the idea.
