The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it is 90 percent ready for the Nov. 11 governorship election in Kogi.
Speaking in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on the telephone in Lokoja yesterday, Dr Gabriel Longpet, the Kogi INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), also said the commission has recruited over 15,000 ad-hoc staff to help deliver a smooth conduct of the polls.

Responding to speculations on whether the commission would use helicopters for the distribution of voting materials in hard-to-reach areas, the REC said he was not aware of such a plan, but assured that the electoral body will see that all the polling units get their materials on time.
Longpet also added that the BVAS had been deployed to the 21 local government areas in the state in readiness for the election.
